Musical Instrument- Sarangi

The musical instrument seen in the picture is the Sarangi, which is mainly made of wood and strings. Its beautiful structure produces a sweet and melodious sound. The instrument is crafted using natural materials.

If you observe carefully, you will notice a square-shaped hole in the middle part of the instrument, followed by a long hollow section. The front portion of the wood is slightly raised, and small wooden pegs are attached to it, which are tightened to adjust the strings and maintain the correct musical notes. Because of this structure, the sound produced from the instrument becomes clearer and more melodious.

This beautifully carved Sarangi is played with a special bow (stick), whose shape somewhat resembles the beak of a peacock. This instrument represents the rich tradition of traditional and folk music.
