Bali Parab: Temple and Ritual of Clan Deity Bheemadev

This photo is of the temple of the clan deity of the Bhottada tribe in Kenduguda village, Nabarangpur district, Odisha. This is the main festival of this tribe, called 'Bali Parab', in which they invoke their clan deity, Bheemadev. This festival comes every 5 years in each village and lasts for 3 months. In it, they perform rituals for their clan deity using akshat (unbroken rice), incense, lamps, and chunari (sacred cloth). During this period, their rituals continue uninterrupted for 3 months, through which they pray to their clan deity for the good health and well-being of themselves, their village, and all their relatives.
