Mutual Support and Traditional Adornment of Baiga Tribal Women

This photograph depicts the mutual support among Baiga tribal women, as they help each other get ready to participate in a special festival. One woman is adjusting the pallu (end) of another woman’s saree so that she can join the ceremony like the other women.

The women wear kamarband (waist belts) and traditional Hasli necklaces, which are considered an important part of Baiga adornment. Almost all the women in the picture are wearing similar sarees, and the colors of their sarees are also nearly the same, reflecting a sense of unity and collective spirit.
