This image shows Bulu Imam, the renowned environmentalist and cultural conservationist from Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, seated in the photograph. He has been honored with the Padma Shri award for his significant contribution to the preservation of tribal culture and heritage. Bulu Imam played a pivotal role in bringing wide recognition to the Sohrai art painted on the mud walls of villages in the Hazaribagh region. He established the Sanskriti Museum in Hazaribagh, where tribal art and heritage are preserved and documented. Working in collaboration with the Tribal Women Artists Cooperative (TWAC), he helped take Sohrai painting to the international stage, earning global recognition for the Santhal tribal art of Jharkhand.
